Cisco Bug: CSCut07013 - CSM incorrectly checks the liveness of the ASA if 'running OS' is blank

Last Modified

Nov 11, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Security Manager

Known Affected Releases

4.7(0)SP0(2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
If the 'Running OS Version' field under the Operating System frame of General tab under Device Properties is blank then everything else works fine except packet tracer. Running the packet tracer causes the CSM to incorrectly check for the device liveness using this field and if the field is blank then CSM considers the ASA to be dead.

Conditions:
Try to run packet tracer for an ASA on CSM with blank 'Running OS Version' field.
