Cisco Bug: CSCus74851 - Update traffic outage duration in monitor np counter

Last Modified

Jul 20, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

4.3.4.LC

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Brief traffic loss and routing protocol flaps.

Conditions:
The command "monitor np counter" has been executed.

The command indicates that an Network Processor (NP) reset is required after the command and that it will cause up to 50 msec of traffic loss. This outage time is 40ms on Typhoon based LC, and 150ms on Tomahawk based LC.

In case of very short BDB hold time, the routing protocols may flap.

This DDTS will update the CLI output to report a more appropriate traffic outage estimate.
