Cisco Bug: CSCus70867 - Incorrect AR on STBs after HD transcoding from AVC to MEPG-2 in PPQ mode
Dec 31, 2016
- Cisco Digital Content Manager (DCM) Software
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Some set-top boxes are not displaying a transcoded MPEG-2 stream in the correct aspect ratio. The displayed aspect ratio is 4:3 while the input aspect ratio was 16:9. In an MPEG-2 encoded stream, an HD stream with 16:9 aspect ratio can be coded in two different ways: Sample Aspect Ratio is equals to square pixels or Display Aspect Ratio equals to 16:9. The MFP uses the first approach. However, this approach has issues on legacy set-top boxes. Conditions: When transcoding an HD service from H.264/AVC to MPEG-2 and the mode of the MFP board is Premium PQ.
