Cisco Bug: CSCus68315 - Cisco DTACS Distributed Denial of Service (DOS) Vulnerability
Aug 06, 2018
- Cisco DTA Control System (DTACS)
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: A vulnerability in the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) module of the Cisco Digital Transport Adapter Control System (DTACS) product could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to disable TCP ports and cause an increase in Central Processing Unit (CPU) and memory usage. The vulnerability is due to a lack of rate limiting in the TCP listen application. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by a TCP SYN flood or denial-of-service (DOS) traffic stream. An exploit could allow the attacker to block TCP listen ports and exhaust system resources like CPU and memory. Conditions: Device running with default configuration running an affected version of software.
