- Cisco Carrier Routing System
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: With LDP address family ipv4/ipv6 discovery targeted-hello accept or neighbor x.x.x.x targteted configured, the following error log will be seen on secondary during NG-ISSU" RP/0/RP0/CPU0:Jan 22 14:56:13.787 : mpls_ldp: %ROUTING-LDP-3-LPTS_UDP_POLICY_FAILED : VRF 'default' (0x60000000), Failed to add LPTS UDP Hello filter for local 0.0.0.0 remote=0.0.0.0: Invalid argument Conditions: 1). LDP address family ipv4/ipv6 discovery targeted-hello accept or neighbor x.x.x.x targteted need to be configured on primary active before starting ISSU process 2). LDP process boots up before IM issu replication done Root cause: This is timing related issue where LDP on secondary tries to set UDP socketopt before IM issu replication done. In this case, LPTS will reject and return ERROR. LDP does not have a retry mechanism for this failure and thus, this error log gets printed. Fix: On secondary LDP, postpone setting the UDP socketopt after getting issu replicaion done from IM.
