Description (partial)

Wireless users on a particular channel will find themselves unable, or barely able, to communicate.  Channel duty cycle is seen to be near 100%.  OTA capture finds that an AP is sending RTS frames to a client at ~ 8000pps, which client is no longer active.

This RTS flood will persist for about one hour.

The wireless client to whom the AP is sending the RTS flood is no longer there.  It had been in the middle of a large data transfer when it shut down (or disabled its interface, or left the building.)

The WLAN is set with a high user idle timeout value, one hour or longer.
