Cisco Bug: CSCus44675 - PCD Install task fails due to insufficient ISO file permission
Jul 06, 2017
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: PCD Install Task fails after 1 hours with error "Not reachable via network" Attempting to Manually connect/mount the Bootable ISO on the CUCM Guest VM via VSphere client fails with error "Connection Control operation failed for disk 'ide1:0' (201)" Conditions: The Bootable ISO file uploaded to the PCD SFTP Datastore only has User Read access permissions and these permissions are retained on the PCD Datastore file system. This prevents the ESXi host accessing the ISO file via the PCD Datastore NFS mount. In the ESXi Host /var/log/hostd.log we can see the following permission error --> vim.fault.GenericVmConfigFault 2015-01-08T23:33:32.510Z [3F502B70 verbose 'Vmsvc.vm:/vmfs/volumes/4cb6d92b-c07384a8-02f9-0010184bfbba/ucm06bcpub/ucm06bcpub.vmx'] Handling message _vmxa: Cannot connect file "/vmfs/volumes/f321f080-6c419e3b/Bootable_UCSInstall_UCOS_10.5.2.10000-5.sgn.iso" as a CD-ROM image: Insufficient permission to access the file --> Failed to connect virtual device ide1:0.
