Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

5.3.0.MCAST

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Crash of the mrib process on RSP in ASR9k nV Edge Cluster system

Conditions:
Crash of the mrib process is seen on the RSP when an ASR9k system is setup as a nV Edge Cluster and certain triggers are performed. This issue occurs when state of the core facing interfaces and inter-rack link interfaces are changed at the same time. The trigger could be any of the following:

1) Reload of LC which has both core facing and inter-rack link interfaces
2) Reload of primary or remote rack (this will cause both core facing and inter-rack link interfaces to go down at the same time)
3) Removing core facing and inter-rack link interfaces together via configuration change (such as commit replace or rollback)

A single crash is seen after which the system recovers.
