Cisco Bug: CSCus11311 - 9.1 OS admin guide includes bad info for 3rd party certs

Last Modified

Sep 16, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)

Known Affected Releases

9.1(2.10000.28)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The Communications Manager Operating System Administrator Guide includes an incorrect statement about 3rd Party CA certs. Specifically "Cisco Unified Communications Manager supports SHA1 signed certificates exclusively." While it is true self-signed certificates and CSRs are limited to SHA1 signatures in versions 9.x and below, there is a workaround to allow for support of SHA256 certificates.

There is also no requirement for Tomcat certificates to include the "key agreement" keyusage as implied in the documentation. And Tomcat also does not require the "IPSEC end system" extended key usage.

Conditions:
none
