Description (partial)

Symptom:
Walking the  memory pool to determine what memory fragments/chunks are either free or used is currently a very costly operation as if we lock the structures long enough to get the memory info
for all fragmented chunks as well as the contiguous blocks, then we incur overruns and sometimes data is lost.

This is regardless if we trigger the memory walk process with SNMP or with the "show memory detail" command. Therefore an improved method is required so that the process of generating detailed memory statistics cannot impact on packet processing and forwarding.
