Description (partial)

Symptom:
Adaptive wIPS alarm and Adaptive wIPS alarm summary report generation are not working and are getting timeout. When the reports are run, an error dialog popped up that says : "Failed to generate report. The selected MSE server 'mseHostName' took too long to collect report data, report generation cancelled. Please change the filtering criteria to one that retrieves lesser amount of records and shows a useful report.".

Conditions:
This happens when the MSE has bad or corrupted Evaluation license. An exception similar to the one below can be seen in the /opt/mse/logs/framework/mse-framework.log file :
