Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 6000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

7.1(0)N1(0.418)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
In an enhanced VPC dual-homed FEX topology, vlan translation mappings will not be installed for one of the 2 FEXs that provide a Host-VPC to a server. Packets forwarded through the Host-VPC will undergo VLAN translation on the FEX for which the vlan mappings are installed, but will not undergo VLAN translation on the FEX for which the vlan mappings have not been installed.

Conditions:
Enhanced VPC topologies comprising 2 Nexus 5600/6000s, dual-homed FEXs and servers dual-homed to both FEXs via a Host-VPC.

In the above topologies, FEX vlan translation mappings that have translated vlans that are allowed only on the Host-VPC port-channel interfaces, will not get installed for one of the dual homed FEXs, after:
 - the 2 Nexus 5600/6000 switches are reloaded or
 - the FEX(s) are reloaded
