Conditions:
The condition occurs in very few C3850 devices with peculiar entity-mib values.

The failure is caused by the order of in which MIB is read from the device in PI.

"Switch 1 - WS-C3850-48P - Fixed Module 0" module refers to the chassis of the device that is not yet loaded PI and hence it triggers a null pointer exception.

Refer walk of entity-mib attached for reference.

ENTITY-MIB is loaded in PI in following order:
entPhysicalDescr.1	c3xxx Stack
entPhysicalDescr.2	Switch 1 - WS-C3850-48P - Fixed Module 0
entPhysicalDescr.3	Switch 1 Slot 1 FRULink Container
entPhysicalDescr.4	GigabitEthernet1/0/1
entPhysicalDescr.5	GigabitEthernet1/0/2
.
.
.
.
entPhysicalDescr.25	GigabitEthernet1/0/24
entPhysicalDescr.1000	WS-C3850-48P
entPhysicalDescr.1001	Switch 1 - WS-C3850-48P - Power Supply A Container:
.
.
.
.
.

And "Switch 1 - WS-C3850-48P - Fixed Module 0" refers to chassis which is not yet loaded by PI.

Here is the reference part of MIB:

entPhysicalContainedIn.1	0
entPhysicalContainedIn.2	1000 [Referring chassis by Switch 1 - WS-C3850-48P - Fixed Module 0]
entPhysicalContainedIn.3	1000
entPhysicalContainedIn.4	2
entPhysicalContainedIn.5	2
entPhysicalContainedIn.6	2
entPhysicalContainedIn.7	2
entPhysicalContainedIn.8	2
