Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches

Known Affected Releases

6.2(7) 6.2(9) 6.2(9a)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
MDS 9148s may respond to SNMP get of "cefcPhysicalStatus" ( iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.117.1.5.1.1.1 ) with integer 3 which means unsupported for power supplies that are installed in the 9148s.

Conditions:
Some OEM products use SNMP and poll Cisco switches using "cefcPhysicalStatus" ( iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.117.1.5.1.1.1 ), to check power supplies. The correct response should be "2" or "supported" if the power supply is present.

On the MDS 9148s, if the power supply is present by powered off ( AC input missing or the power switch is in the "0" or OFF position, the switch will respond to the query for that supply with integer 3 ( unsupported ).

This is incorrect, the response should still be integer 2 ( supported ).
