Cisco Bug: CSCur72522 - 9148s replies "unsupported" to cefcPhysicalStatus SNMP query
Mar 30, 2020
- Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches
Known Affected Releases
6.2(7) 6.2(9) 6.2(9a)
Symptom: MDS 9148s may respond to SNMP get of "cefcPhysicalStatus" ( iso.18.104.22.168.22.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.1 ) with integer 3 which means unsupported for power supplies that are installed in the 9148s. Conditions: Some OEM products use SNMP and poll Cisco switches using "cefcPhysicalStatus" ( iso.188.8.131.52.184.108.40.206.220.127.116.11.1 ), to check power supplies. The correct response should be "2" or "supported" if the power supply is present. On the MDS 9148s, if the power supply is present by powered off ( AC input missing or the power switch is in the "0" or OFF position, the switch will respond to the query for that supply with integer 3 ( unsupported ). This is incorrect, the response should still be integer 2 ( supported ).
