Cisco Bug: CSCur66140 - Import of Global routes to VRF will fail

Last Modified

Known Affected Releases

Description (partial)

Importing a prefix from global table to VRF table fails because the limit defined has been exceeded, even though show commands suggest the number of prefixes imported are less than defined limit.

'show ip bgp vpnv4 all' will show an unexpectedly large number for the "count". For example:

R1#sh ip bgp vpnv4 all
Import Map: EXAMPLE-MAP Address-Family: IPv4 Unicast, Pfx Count/Limit:4294964852/5000

Receiving updates and withdraws in the following order will cause this to occur. 1) Router learns and imports a prefix from a VPN neighbor. 2) Router learns and (from global to vrf) imports prefix from IPv4 neighbor. 3) Router receives withdraw from VPN neighbor. 4) Router receives withdraw from IPv4 neighbor. Should this sequence of events happen a sufficient number of times, the problem may be seen.
