Cisco Bug: CSCur61744 - uBR10k - The Default values for Divert Rate Limit are too high
Jan 24, 2017
- Cisco uBR10000 Series Universal Broadband Routers
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The default values configured for DRL (rate, limit) are too high. For the Cable side the default values are (2000,2000). For the WAN side the default values are (4000,4000). You will need to do "show run all" to see the default values. For Example: Cable side: cable divert-rate-limit rate 2000 limit 2000 WAN side: service divert-rate-limit ip fib_rp_glean rate 4000 limit 4000 service divert-rate-limit ipv6 ipv6_rp_glean rate 4000 limit 4000 Unless lower values are configured, there is a potential for congestion between the FP (Forwarding Processor) and the RP (Route Processor). Too much traffic between the FP and RP path can cause congestion and high CPU utilization on the RP. Conditions: This is seen in normal working conditions. Cisco IOS versions 12.2(33)SCB to 12.2(33)SCH2 are affected.
