Cisco Bug: CSCur54530 - populate_content script needed without re-sync functionality.
Oct 16, 2015
- Cisco Videoscape Distribution Suite for Television
- Cisco TV Streamer Application
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The customer is currently having two separate databases (one database per Vaultgroup with entirely different content) and only CDSM and Streamers are having a combined database with all the content. What happens during a PATROL run or any other resynchronization is that one or the other half of the database entries gets wiped from the Streamer's database, depending on the Vault the Streamer synchronized with. To alleviate the issue we disabled resync and patrol on all Streamers and the CDSM, but now if a content update is being missed by the CDSM or Streamer there is no functionality in place to repopulate the missing assets from the Vaults to Streamers and CDSM. Conditions: If e.g. due to a network issue a database update of a newly ingested assets on the Vaults doesn't reach the CDSM or Streamer it will be impossible to manually replicate the update out.
