Last Modified

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

Description (partial)

Feature Request

Symptom:
ASR9K Linkup/down traps are sending only "ifIndex, ifDescr, ifType, locIfReason", without "ifDescr, ifType" like other platforms such as IOS and IOS XE.

So customer is looking for traps with format in CISCO-IF-EXTENSION-MIB.my, like other Cisco Platforms:

cieLinkDown NOTIFICATION-TYPE
    OBJECTS         {
                        ifIndex,
                        ifAdminStatus,
                        ifOperStatus,
                        ifName,
                        ifType
                    }
STATUS          current

cieLinkUp NOTIFICATION-TYPE
    OBJECTS         {
                        ifIndex,
                        ifAdminStatus,
                        ifOperStatus,
                        ifName,
                        ifType
                    }
    STATUS          current

In this way, customer could see the interface name directly without a query after the trap.
