Cisco Bug: CSCur45038 - Router advertisement with different prefix reaching client with L3 roam

Last Modified

May 05, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controllers

Known Affected Releases

7.6(100.16)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
-When a client roams between controllers, the router advertisements from both subnets are reaching the client. This happens even though the mobility handoff happens correctly, where we can see the anchor informing the foreign controller about the correct client IP addresses and prefix.
-This can cause a break in L3 roaming since it will trigger client to get a new IP address.

Conditions:
This is seen only when the SSID on both the controllers are mapped to the same VLAN ID, however they are part of different subnets on each controller.
