Description (partial)

Symptom:
static route towards a directly connected host breaks forwarding on N7k

(192.168.2.2)host A----Vlan1--N7k--vlan2-----host B(192.168.1.2) 

if we configure static route as below it breaks forwarding in hardware.

ip route 192.168.1.2/32 vlan 2

You can still ping the device from N7k and source it from any interface.
