Symptom:
When launching the VSM client from the webpage nothing will happen. 

The recent java versions are more strict in how they grant security rights to webstart applications.
For the vsm client this means that no write rights were granted.

Conditions:
The Java version installed on the client has version:

Java 7 update 71 or later
Java 8 update 25 or later
