Description (partial)

On a 3850 switch with NEAT configured, the Authenticator switch will dynamically change the uplink port from the supplicant switch to a trunk port after the supplicant switch authenticates to the Authenticator switch/Radius server. If the admin then makes a change on the 3850 switch and saves the running configuration to the start-up configuration. The dynamically changed port configuration is also saved into the startup configuration. Therefore, when the switch reloads, the uplink port on the Authenticator comes up as a trunk port instead of an Access port as desired.

NEAT Configuration
-3850 running 03.03.04SE as the Authenticator
-Radius server passes cisco-av-pair= device-traffic-class=switch to the Authenticator switch
-Uplink port from Supplicant switch on 3850 dynamically changes to a trunk port
-Make other changes and save configuration on the switch.
