Description (partial)

A link down alarm is seen in PI for switches when an access port moves to an administratively up and operationally down state. This causes a massive amount of link down alarms in PI.

The application needs a way to differentiate between port significance in the network. As of now, we receive the same alarms when employees undock their laptops and take them home at night as when a major uplink port on a core switch goes down
