Cisco Bug: CSCur28321 - node name suffix entry is not easily understood

Last Modified

  • Cisco MATE Collector

Known Affected Releases

6.0 6.0.1

Description (partial)

in MATE Collector under COLLECTION -> What to Collect the is a text box marked "Remove node name suffixes separated by comma"

When entering suffixes it is not clear what the requirements are for entries to the list. If someone is accustomed to using earlier version of MATE they will likely try to enter a suffix starting with a "." or try to enter a string of characters, thinking they can use it like a regex.

When an entry that does not meet the criteria is typed in, the system just drops it with no indication of why it was wrong or what format might have been expected.
