Cisco Bug: CSCur26215 - Kerberos Realm Name (option 6) uses wrong encoding
Jun 20, 2016
- Cisco Network Registrar
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The Kerberos Realm Name option data (option 122.6 for DHCPv4 and CableLabs Vendor Option (17) (enterprise-id 4491) option 2171, suboption 6) is not accepted by packet cable devices. This is because these are incorrectly defined as AT_NSTRING (non-null terminated string) instead of AT_DNSNAME. Conditions: Impacts PacketCable for CPNR versions 22.214.171.124 - 126.96.36.199 for DHCPv4 and 8.2 - 188.8.131.52 for DHCPv6. And, 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11 for both DHCPv4 and DHCPv6. Note: If PCP (BAC) supplies this option data, the correct data will be sent out but may not be shown correctly if detailed packet logging (packet dump) is enabled.
