Cisco Bug: CSCur14709 - 5760 AP TCP MSS defaults to 536

Last Modified

  • Cisco 5700 Series Wireless LAN Controllers

Known Affected Releases

Description (partial)

Symptom:
AP TCP MSS adjust value is set to '0' which should yield a 1460 MSS for the client to negotiate. However, NGWC is enforcing the minimum 536 in the 3-way handshake. If the MSS is manually set to 1363 (or any value), then that value is used.

Aside from being less efficient, content devices (like the ACE) and other SSL termination points do not handle this situation gracefully with the server-side connecitons.
