Cisco Bug: CSCur02304 - 100G-CK-LC not booting when upgrading from a Release not supporting it

Last Modified

Nov 17, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco ONS 15454 Series Multiservice Provisioning Platforms

Known Affected Releases

10.00 10.01 10.02 10.10

Description (partial)

Symptom:
A 100G-LC or 100G-CK-LC card is not booting

Conditions:
Plug a 100G-CK card in a shelf running a System Release prior to 10.0 (the first Release supporting 100G-CK). The card is correctly not recognized by the System and the boot process stops at Kernel level. Upgrade the node to 10.0 or any greater Release: the 100G-CK will still be blocked at kernel level and CTC report the card as missing.

The same condition can be replicated by reverting from a Release >= 10 to a prior Release and upgrading again subsequently.
