Known Affected Releases

15.4(3)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When a C888 router is polled by SNMP, it shows an extra interface Ethernet5. It has an IP address (10.10.10.1/24) configured and input traffic is also witnessed on it. This interface is not visible in the cli and is non configurable. The interface was hidden as part of the fix for CSCun60433 but it still shows up under an SNMP monitoring tool.

The fix for CSCun60433 was to hide the interface (It is a management interface used for internal communication) from showing up when doing a 'sh running- config'

Conditions:
This is seen when a C888 router is polled for interfaces by an SNMP server
