Cisco Bug: CSCuq99078 - Users wont be able to power on Native chanls due to cluttered hosts file
May 25, 2017
- Cisco IPICS PMC Client Software
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Users wont be able to power on any Native channels due to cluttered hosts file on their client windows machines. Conditions: 1. Install IPICS with ISSI, two local ISSI channels, 2 Remote P25 channels (e.g. Vermont TG1 and TG4) and two IDC's Remote and Multicast 2. use a PC that has been used for long time as a shared IDC among many users with P25 IDs. notice that whenever a new created user logs in to IDC a P25 record is added to his Local C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts 3. if you use an old PC to login that had a cluttered hosts file then an issue powering on P25 Native channels might occur which is caused by too many records for the same IP on the local PC hosts file. That caused the user not to be able to power on any native channel (with "unknown error" on IDC) and his P25 ID won't be in the NLR or the etc/hosts file of the ISSIG.
