Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls

Known Affected Releases

9.1(5)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) may report high memory utilization after a significant spike in the number of concurrent connections even after the connection load reduces to a lower value. This memory is allocated in anticipation of another similar connection spike. While the ASA operates as designed, this enhancement request is filed to optimize the memory caching behavior under high load.

Conditions:
The high connection count water mark is significantly above the normally expected traffic profile.
