Cisco Bug: CSCuq73055 - Fabricpath TTL configuration causes VPC process crash on ISSU/switchover

Last Modified

Feb 02, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

6.2(8)E5

Description (partial)

Symptom:
VPC Manager process may crash after an ISSU, Supervisor switch-over or upon restoring configuration after reload of the device, if a non-default configuration for Fabricpath unicast or multicast TTL is in use on the device.

Conditions:
IF the CLI "fabricpath ttl unicast " or "fabricpath ttl multicast" has been used to modify the TTL on a device (n7k/n77) with VPC+ configured, after a switch-over or switch-reload, the process may be in an unstable state. This issue may be seen in software versions from 6.2.2 upto 6.2.10 .
The software version 6.2.10 would allow this configuration to be safely used.
