Description (partial)

Client unable to connect to CPO server after patch installation.
Immediately after loggin in to the Optical Portal the following error is shown on the browser:
HTTP Status 500.....PKIX path building failed: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

CPO has a CA certificate installed (not the one provided by default by Cisco)
A CPO patch is installed.
