  • Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Control-Plane Policing on a 4900-M switch does not match on specific IPv6 ICMP Packet types. These packets are matched in class-default instead.

Conditions:
This problem was observed on a Cisco Catalyst 4900-M switch with a policy-map configured on the control plane, which has specific classes that match on IPv6 ICMP packet types for policing. When traffic that should match one of these classes is sent to the switch, it is registered in class-default instead.
