Cisco Bug: CSCuq58700 - Wlan PSK profile applied to NGWC with invalid argument "clear"

Last Modified

Sep 12, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco 5700 Series Wireless LAN Controllers

Known Affected Releases

10.2(1.248)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
If we generate a wlan-profile at prime 2.1 with a pre shared key and deploy the profile to NGWC controllers, prime sends following command:

security wpa akm psk set-key ascii clear xxxx

but the correct syntax is:

security wpa akm psk set-key ascii 0 xxxx

so at the next reboot of the controller, the network will be shutdown because the controller ignore the preshared key.

If we manually try to enter that command with "clear" on NGWC, it reports invalid argument:
...
w-5760-2(config-wlan)#security wpa akm psk set-key ascii clear Cisco123
                                                         ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
...

Conditions:
PI 2.1 and NGWC.
Deploy WLAN template from PI.
