Last Modified

Sep 17, 2019

Products (1)

 • Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches

Known Affected Releases

6.2(11)FM(0.25) 6.2(8)TS(0.41)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
On MDS 9000 switch, under extremely rare circumstances it can become impossible to remove a port from a port-channel. The command times out after a long (30 seconds or more) timeout:

switch(config)# int fc1/1
switch(config-if)# no channel-group 1
switch(config-if)# from port-channel 1: Timer expired

In the switch syslog, you will notice error messages similar to

switch %PORT-CHANNEL-3-LC_CFG_TIMEOUT_ENTRY_PORT_ERR_DISABLE: Failed to send LC config due to timeout, Port fc1/1 Err disabled

Conditions:
This can happen under unknown and extremely rare circumstances.
