Description (partial)

An AP may find itself in a reboot loop. The console shows the following sequence:

* the AP boots up
* a few seconds after booting, messages similar to the following are displayed:
May 6 09:44:54.015: Using SHA-1 signed certificate for image signing validation.
May  6 09:44:54.016: Error opening file flash:/c1140-k9w8-mx.153-3.JA/final_hash.sig
May 6 09:44:54.016: Digital Signature Failed Validation (flash:/c1140-k9w8-mx.153-3.JA/final_hash)
May 6 09:44:54.016: AP image integrity check FAILED!

May 6 09:44:54.016: Release image validation failure - restarting AP.

* the AP crashes
* the AP reboots, and the cycle repeats

 09:44:57 UTC Fri May 6 2011: Unexpected exception to CPU: vector 2000, PC = 0x28D00C  , LR = 0x28D00C

-Traceback= 0x28D00Cz 0x28D00Cz 0x7C2280z 0x7FE904z 0x7FA140z 0x816FF8z 0x2758C0z

AP was running an (15.3(3)JA) full lightweight (k9w8 image), as downloaded in CAPWAP from a WLC, OR a 15.3(3) autonomous IOS image (k9w7) image

Then, another 15.3(3) AP IOS image, as downloaded from is installed on the AP using the
"archive download-sw" or image recovery method. This install is corrupted, and, upon a subsequent reboot, the AP will go into the crash loop.
