Aug 07, 2018
- Cisco Carrier Routing System
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Less free memory availability on Metro Cards . Due to which following operation/functions gets effected 1. Increased periodic alarms from WD (watch dog ) about critical available free memory. 2. Failure in SMU upgrades or ISSU. 3. If very low memory condition persists , WD monitor would kill the high memory consumers , which might have random effects over the router function based on the process killed. Hence, to mitigate above symptoms and to increase the free available memory the allscan file for sapir asic is removed . which impacts and produces following symtoms 1. No asic scan for sapir asics in case of asic-erros which causes the asic scan of sapir asic 2. No effect of manual asic scan trigger for sapir asic from the CLI. Conditions: For example CLI command admin)#asic-scan sfe instance 0 quick-scan allscan location <R/S/I>
