Cisco Bug: CSCuq28951 - CNR 7.2 installation on RedHat 6 does not work from the start

Last Modified

Nov 30, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Network Registrar

Known Affected Releases

7.2(3.4)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
CNR 7.2 installation on RedHat 6 doesn't work from the start

Conditions:
The documentation saying that OS required for CNR 7.2 is "Minimum requirements" RedHat 5, which assumes that RedHat 6 should be supported:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/network_registrar/7-2/installation/guide/CNR72Install/IGoverv.html#wp1051652
But because openldap package was not the part of CNR train 7.x and it depends on the system one (which is described in the documentation) and requires it to be 2.2, the only compatible RedHat is 5. RedHat version 6 has openldap 2.4 and dhcpd will fail to start on this system until requirements met.
Also there is no official openldap 2.2 package for RedHat 6, which assumes installing third party packages and compromises integrity.
