Last Modified

Products (1)

Known Affected Releases

7.5

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The issue has 2 parts to it as explained below.

Part 1:
Assuming that Cisco Services have been restarted:

1) Login to VSM 7.5 , acquire session ID
2)	Do Live Thumbnail download with v1_0 JSON APIs pointing at VSM 7.5 server, this executes successfully
3)	After sometime(say, after session expiry), do verify session. This results in an error
4)	Upon failed called to verifySession, call Login() API again, Login fails with VsomException suggesting java null pointer exception and no Session ID is acquired
5)	An attempt to do Live Thumbnail download now would fail with error code 401 Authentication required, no or invalid session ID in header.

The second part of the issue is even more strange.
Part 2:
Assuming the partner closes their application after the above steps and tries again after a few minutes:

1)	Login to VSM 7.5 , acquire session ID
2)	Do Live Thumbnail download with v1_0 JSON APIs pointing at VSM 7.5 server, An attempt to do Live Thumbnail download now would fail with error code 401 Authentication required, no or invalid session ID in header. This behavior is unexpected.

The only way for Thumbnail downloads to happen successfully again is by restarting Cisco services.

Conditions:
Thumbnail download for Live works as expected when first time session ID acquired, issues starts when this session expires due to inactivity and a verify session API is called. Upon error of this call, Partner code tries to login again using Login API. The issues can be reproduced under this condition.
