Cisco Bug: CSCuq23019 - Incorrect route choice in RIB when backup paths are present
Jan 07, 2017
- Cisco Carrier Routing System
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Rib not always selecting correct route when backup path is available. In some scenarios, excessive route churn is seen, which causes high CPU. Conditions: oUsing EIGRP as PE-CE protocol oMutual redistribution between EIGRP and BGP oAdditional paths config in BGP VPNV4 address family oEIGRP route be installed in the RIB before receiving IBGP route oIBGP path should have lower metric (cost community) than CE-EIGRP path. This results in IBGP path being passed to RIB first (since it is the best path), followed by the redistributed EIGRP path.
