Cisco Bug: CSCuq15480 - ST: MDSNG switchover - lldp logging level missing from running config

Last Modified

Sep 20, 2019

Products (1)

 • Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches

Known Affected Releases

6.2(11)FM(0.13) 6.2(21) 8.2(0)SK(0.114)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) logging level changes will not save from the running configuration to the startup configuration. This can be seen in the switch# show running-config diff output:

switch# sh run diff
*** Startup-config
--- Running-config
***************
*** 9,19 ****
 feature fport-channel-trunk
 feature telnet
 no feature http-server
 feature lldp
 logging level aaa 6
- logging level lldp 6
 logging level monitor 6

This condition persists even after erasing the start-up configuration with write erase and performing another copy running-config startup-config command.

It also persists when reloading the switch with an existing startup-configuration.

Conditions:
This issue occurs when the supervisor that booted as the standby supervisor becomes the active supervisor and the LLDP logging level configuration is changed.
