Cisco Bug: CSCuq13470 - Adjfibs ignore non-attached covering attached prefix and refine anyway

Last Modified

Sep 12, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

4.2.3.BASE 4.2.3.FWDG

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Forwarding (CEF entry) of a /32 RIB route is overridden when there is a covering connected or attached route.

Conditions:
When a host is supposed to be directly connected on an interface and we want to redirect traffic for that host through another interface by configuring a /32 IPv4 route, then this route may not be taken into account (CEF prefers arp adjacency over RIB next hop) so still forward traffic over the interface with the covering prefix instead of the other interface where we configured the /32 route.
