Cisco Bug: CSCuq12879 - WSA will drop auth packets when redirected to https proxy listening port

Last Modified

Nov 13, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Web Security Appliance

Known Affected Releases

8.0.6-053

Description (partial)

Symptom:
HTTPS traffic with authentication on non standard port (non 443) will be dropped

Conditions:
1. WCCP is in use
2. HTTPs proxy is configured to listen to non standard port (e.g. 8443)
3. Authentication is needed.

Then the WSA will redirect for authentication to port 8443. Because 8443 is on https listening ports, authentication packets from clients will be dropped.
