Description (partial)

Symptom:
When cables of server ports are pulled out from Fabric Interconnect, a similar entry will be logged.

%UCSM-3-LINK_DOWN: [F0276][major][link-down][sys/switch-B/slot-1/switch-ether/port-3] ether port 3 on fabric interconnect B oper state: link-down, reason: Link failure or not-connected

However, a false "[F0276][cleared]" event might be logged after 20 to 30 seconds before the cable is plugged back.

Conditions:
The sequences of server port link status transitions work as follows.

  - When an "UP" port gets disconnected, it firstly makes a status
    transition to "Link Down".
     
  - When a port is at "Link Down" status, it then checks if a SFP is
    inserted.
     
  - If there is a SFP in, the port status remains at "Link Down" and the
    F0276 will not be cleared. This happens when the SFP Cable is
    plugged in at FI port and the SFP at IOM is disconnected.
    
    We raise the fault "Link down or not connected" and this fault is not
    cleared until we plug in the SFP back on the IOM port

  - On the contrary, if there is no SFP detected, the port status will
    transit from "Link Down" to "Sfp Not Present". This happens when
    SFP is plugged in at IOM and the other end is not plugged in at the
    FI port configured to be server.

  - As the port status is not "Link Down" anymore, the F0276 gets
    cleared.
