Cisco Bug: CSCuq06622 - AVC update fails with web proxy ports configured in range

Last Modified

Jun 29, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Web Security Appliance

Known Affected Releases

8.0.6-053 8.0.7-000 8.1.0-000 8.5.0-000

Description (partial)

Symptom:
update logs shows constantly after AVC update:

Mon Jul 21 16:59:27 2014 Warning: avc update failed
Mon Jul 21 16:59:27 2014 Debug: application update failed: ('egg/avc_update.py _magic_db_reload|239', "<type 'exceptions.AttributeError'>", "'InvalidURL' object has no attribute 'errmsg'", '[updater/app_thread.py _run_update|723] [updater/app_thread.py run_update|861] [updater/app_thread.py _apply_files|385] [egg/avc_update.py apply_files|114] [egg/avc_update.py _magic_db_reload|239]')

Conditions:
It turns out when web proxy is listening to e.g. port 80,81,82 we store those proxyports as "80-82" which will cause AVC to incorrectly handling this port parameter.
