Known Affected Releases

Description (partial)
Symptom: Upon Switch reload or non-default vdc reload, the following symptoms are seen. Non-default VDC's breakout config & breakout ports are out of sync. Symptom 1: In non-default vdc, Breakout ports are available instead of the Front Panel port. 'show running config' & 'show interface breakout' commands will not show that the front panel interface is broken in the non-default vdc. But 'show vdc membership' & 'show interface brief' commands will show that the front panel port is broken and the breakout ports are available for use in the vdc. Show running ----> show that the "show run | grep breakout" output is empty. 'Show interface ethernet 3/8 breakout' output is empty. 'Show vdc membership' output. Flags : b - breakout port --------------------------------- vdc_id: 2 vdc_name: eth interfaces: Ethernet3/8(b) Ethernet3/8/1 Ethernet3/8/2 Ethernet3/8/3 Ethernet3/8/4 'Show interface brief ' output. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ethernet VLAN Type Mode Status Reason Speed Por t Interface Ch # -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eth3/7 -- eth routed down Administratively down auto(D) -- Eth3/8/1 -- eth routed down SFP not inserted auto(D) -- Eth3/8/2 -- eth routed down SFP not inserted auto(D) -- Eth3/8/3 -- eth routed down SFP not inserted auto(D) -- Eth3/8/4 -- eth routed down SFP not inserted auto Symptom 2: In non-default vdc, Front panel port is available instead of the Breakout ports 'show running config' & 'show interface breakout' commands will show that the front panel port is broken out. But 'show vdc membership' & 'show interface brief' commands will show that the front panel port is not broken out and the breakout ports are not available for use in the vdc. Example: Show running ----> shows that the port is broken out in running config 'Show run | grep breakout' output interface breakout module 3 port 8 map 10g-4x 'Show interface e3/8 breakout' output -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parent Breakout Map Breakout Ports -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eth3/8 10g-4x Eth3/8/1-4 ?Show vdc membership? output. Here are the scenario's. Scenario 1: Interface breakout done in non-default vdc. ' copy r s ' NOT being done on the non-default vdc Or write erase done in the non-default vdc ' copy r s ' being done on the default vdc Reload the switch Scenario 2: Interface breakout done in non-default vdc. ' copy r s ' being done on the non-default vdc ' copy r s ' NOT being done on the default vdc Reload the switch This scenario is not applicable to 6.2.10 but applicable to earlier releases. In 6.2.10, before copy r s can be done in the non-default vdc, copy r s has to be done in the default vdc. Scenario 3: Interface breakout done in non-default vdc ' copy r s ' being done on the non-default vdc ' copy r s ' being done on the default vdc Do 'no interface breakout' on the same interface which was broken in the step1. Reload the non-default vdc.
