Cisco Bug: CSCup95848 - J4W Enhancement - MediaDeviceService to use Audio Device Names

Last Modified

Feb 22, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Jabber for Windows

Known Affected Releases

9.2(7) 9.6(2) 9.7(2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Changing audio device preferences in a Citrix XenDesktop 5.6 virtualised environment does not stick. When the user logs into a different machine (even in the same pool) the device ID for audio devices (such as USB headsets) are different; so the device identifiers are no longer valid in deviceData3.properties (when they log into Jabber for Windows).

Conditions:
Jabber for Windows 9.x in a virtualised environment. This was experienced by a customer using Citrix XenDesktop 5.6 using Pooled Random. It has also been recreated by Cisco Development in a VXC lab environment.
