- Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Nexus 7000/7700 may experience some errors similar to the following on reboot with active SPAN configuration with Fabric Port Channels set as SPAN sources under certain conditions. The vlans which are a part of the timed-out LOGICAL_BRINGUP message maybe in suspended state on the affected port. 2014 Jul 14 22:19:22 Fex-xbow-1-hif-vpc %ETHPORT-5-IF_SEQ_ERROR: Error ("sequenc e timeout") communicating with MTS_SAP_ETH_SPAN for opcode MTS_OPC_ETHPM_PORT_LO GICAL_BRINGUP (RID_PORT: port-channel442) Conditions: This can happen on the big scale setups with several FEX boxes and multiple Fabric Port Channels set as SPAN sources on an active (no shut) SPAN session if one of the following triggers are executed: 1. Reload box with config copied 2. VDC reload 3. Reload the module with multiple SPAN Source Fabric Port Channels An example config would be: A switch with 20+ FEX boxes in the same VDC and all the Fabric Port Channels associated with the 20+ FEX boxes are set as SPAN sources. The issue is only seen during the triggers mentioned above and has no impact on a system up and running, regardless of the scale.
