Cisco Bug: CSCup83218 - Postgres-XC VMs may have warning messages in whisper.log
Nov 29, 2014
- Cisco Mobility Services Engine
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Each Virtual Machine (VM) has a "whisper.log" located at /var/log/whisper.log. This log describes interlock dependencies between various VMs in the deployment. It also has various initialization messages. During normal operation, there should only be "INFO, DEBUG or TRACE" level logs. WARN or ERROR messages require further investigation. Some deployments have VMs named "pg-co-01" and "pg-co-02". This not only applies to those. If these VMs do not exist, this not does not apply. In the case of the VMs "pg-co-01" and "pg-co-02", there may be warnings (WARN level) in the following sequence: "create of dn1 node failed" "failure with create of cluster notes - result 1" "failed to create <specific> database" Under most circumstances, these warnings can be ignored if there are no ERROR level messages also included. Further action is only required if ERROR level messages also exist. Otherwise, these messages can be ignored. Conditions: The WARN messages are emitted on systems that have previously properly created all the databases successfully.
