Dec 04, 2018
- Cisco Unity Connection
Known Affected Releases
10.0(0.99) 10.0(1)ES1 10.5(0.99)
Symptom: With UC 10.0.1 and later it's seen where if a user template is configured under Edit>Message Actions to use %FirstName% or %LastName% or %Alias% in the relay option and any of those 3 values contain a period "." the user creation will fail with the following error: The specified column value is invalid. Unable to create User Upon further investigation in Tomcat logs: com.cisco.unity.async.UserImporter - Exception while importing user: java.sql.SQLException: Value of table tbl_MessageHandler column RelayAddress is invalid. Many users may be a John Smith Jr. or John Smith Sr. which require a period in the first or last name. This prevents users from having any period in their name if they've configured the template to auto-create their SMTP relay address. Conditions: UC 10.0.1 and later User template configured for Edit>Message Actions with the relay option set to use any of %FirstName% or %LastName% or %Alias% where these values contain a "."
